Pleasant weekend ahead with possible showers Saturday

Warm weather and moisutre is forecasted for this weekend in the Yampa Valley with the highest chance of rain and thunderstorms coming Saturday, according to Mike Weissbluth, who posts twice a week local forecasts to SnowAlarm.com.

Saturday and Sunday are expected to see high temperatures in the low-60s. Showers could fall as early as noon Saturday and continue through Saturday night.

Drier air and afternoon breezes should welcome Duane Betts and Palmetto Hotel and the Wailers Sunday to Steamboat Ski Resort for the Bud Light Rocks the Boat concert series.



By Monday, showers and cooler weather will replace the mild weather and significant snowfall at high elevations and could bring snowflakes in town.

It was the warmest March on record since 1893, according to Weissbluth’s Thursday forecast on SnowAlarm.com. The new March high-temperature is 81 F set on March 21 and 24.



The temperature broke the previous high of 70 F set in 2017. The highest temperature recorded in April is 79 F set twice in 2000 and 1943.

The March temperature average was 42.6 F, surpassing the previous record of 37.1 Fin 2017.
