Yampa Valley Regional Airport to begin 120-day construction on Monday
The Yampa Valley Regional Airport will begin a series of airfield upgrades starting Monday, June 2, designed to boost airport safety and operational efficiency, according to a statement.
The construction is expected to last around 120 days and will require significant nighttime runway closures, temporarily shifting airport operating hours to 7 a.m.-9 p.m. Access to commercial and fixed-base operator aprons will remain available.
Key improvements include a complete rebuild of Taxiway A, the addition of a new A2 connector near the east end of Runway 10/28, implementation of a 500-foot blast pad at the approach end of Runway 28, replacement of Taxiway A lighting, and the widening and strengthening of Taxiway B.
The project will be completed in four coordinated phases, running through mid-September. Airport staff will provide regular updates on construction progress and operational impacts via newsletters, direct communications and the airport website.
