Two Steamboat nonprofits to receive $27,500 in grant funding from El Pomar Foundation

The Community Agriculture Alliance and Steamboat Reading are both getting a nice boost after the El Pomar Trustees announced $62,500 in grant funding will be allocated to five nonprofit organizations in Northwest Colorado.

Through the foundation’s grant-making process, the Community Agriculture Alliance will be awarded $25,000 for building renovations, while Steamboat Reading will receive $2,500 for general operating support, according to the foundation.

Other organizations awarded funding include the Middle Park Medical Foundation in Kremmling ($20,000), Valley Settlement in Glenwood Springs ($10,000) and the Western Slope Veterans Coalition in Glenwood Springs ($5,000).

The El Pomar Foundation was founded by Spencer and Julie Penrose in 1937. It is now one of the largest and oldest private foundations in Colorado and contributes approximately $25 million annually to support Colorado nonprofits through grants. For more, go to ElPomar.org/grant— making/.
