Super Seniors: Annie Jeckel

Annie Jeckel

Editor’s note: The Steamboat Pilot & Today asked readers to tell us about their favorite seniors over the age of 75 and then we asked these Super Seniors to share their secrets to living a long and healthy life.

Annie Jeckel

Super powers: Annie Jeckel hikes every day in the summer and snowshoes or skis daily in the winter. On her birthday, it is a given that she hikes on spring snow up to the top of Storm Peak to Buddy Werner’s sculpture. Annie still actively works in a local pet store and loves to garden. She loves to volunteer and can be found helping out at the Yampa River Botanic Park or the Strings Music Festival tent.

Just as battling mental health issues is not easy for many Routt County individuals, providing community mental health services is no easy task, especially with the added pressures of the pandemic.
