The Routt County Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) will host a public Lunch & Chat on Thursday in Steamboat Springs for community members to learn how agencies collaborate to respond to sexual assault, support survivors and strengthen prevention and accountability efforts.
The public event is set for noon-1 p.m. Thursday at Johnny B. Good’s Diner at 738 Lincoln Ave. in downtown Steamboat. Community members are encouraged to attend and engage in conversation about the SART coordinated response system.
The event marks Sexual Assault Awareness Month in April as an opportunity to highlight the importance of coordinated response systems that ensure survivors are met with care, respect and access to resources.
While response team meetings are typically conducted among partner agencies, community members are invited to attend this week’s lunch event to learn about collaboration between agencies that includes law enforcement, human services, medical providers, advocates and prosecutors. The Routt County SART is a multidisciplinary partnership that includes professionals in a breadth of agencies who work together toward consistent, trauma-informed response to sexual assault cases.
