Steamboat-based prosthetic developer Click Medical awarded Governor’s Award for Excellence in Exporting

Click Medical LLC, a Steamboat Springs-based developer of adjustable prosthetic systems, has been named the 2025 winner of the Governor’s Award for Excellence in Exporting, according to a statement released on May 23.

Founded by Certified Prosthetist Joe Mahon in 2009, Click Medical has revolutionized prosthetics with its adjustable-socket technology, inspired by the ease of snowboard boot adjustments, so that patients can control the fit of their prosthetic device with a dial.

The company’s devices now reach over 50 countries, up from 39 just last year, thanks in part to support from two State Trade Expansion Program grants that enabled participation in the international Arab Health conference.

Click Medical has recently expanded its Routt County workforce, adding four new team members since January to meet rising demand. The company provides employee training, growth opportunities and competitive benefits to support retention and quality.

“Click Medical is a Colorado success story, born from an idea on the ski slopes and now distributing adjustable prosthetic devices worldwide,” said Governor Polis in the statement.

The Governor’s Award, established in 1970, honors Colorado companies demonstrating excellence in international trade. Click Medical joins 132 previous recipients recognized for advancing Colorado’s global business presence.
