The town of Oak Creek is set to hold its April 2 election with contests in the race for mayor and four candidates running for three open trustee seats.

The contested mayor’s race will see Melissa Dobbins challenging incumbent Nikki Knoebel, who spent one year as a Town Trustee before becoming Oak Creek’s mayor in 2010.

Dobbins currently serves as a Town Trustee. She first filled the position on an interim basis after being appointed in September 2021. She then went on to win an election in April 2022 to serve a four-year term.

Dobbins’ bid for mayor will leave her trustee seat open as one of three available to four candidates running for election to the board this year. The candidates are Mary Alice Page-Allen, Christopher Hedberg, Sascha Stanger and Julie Gregory.

Oak Creek voters and members of the public are invited to attend a March 7 “Meet the Candidates for Town Board” event scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at Town Hall.

Voters will cast their votes in the election by mail-in ballots only. According to Town Manager David Torgler, ballots will be mailed to registered voters on or before March 21.
