Eleanor C. Hasenbeck is a reporter covering the city of Steamboat Springs, Hayden, environment and breaking news. She joined the Steamboat Pilot & Today in summer 2018.
Eleanor started working in print news at the Daily American Republic in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, where she wrote and edited obituaries. Since then, she has worked at the Columbia Missourian in central Missouri, where she earned a Missouri Press Association award for local business coverage and the Craig Press in Moffat County, where she covered local government and the energy industry.
She also has worked in outreach for numerous science and natural resource organizations, including the Missouri Department of Conservation, Bond Life Sciences Center and the University of Missouri College of Agriculture Food and Natural Resources. Her work has been featured in The Denver Post, Farm Journal, the New Territory and the Missouri Conservationist.
Eleanor holds a Bachelor of Science in science and agricultural journalism from the University of Missouri.
When she’s not chasing stories about wildlife or local elected officials, Eleanor enjoys spending time outdoors — be it on skis or on the water.
