The intersection of 6th Street and Yampa Street in downtown Steamboat Springs will be closed to vehicle traffic starting Monday through Aug. 1 due to private construction at 608 Yampa Street.
Detour signs will be posted to guide traffic and pedestrians around the closure. Sidewalks and parking will also be impacted, and the city urges drivers and pedestrians to follow signage for everyone’s safety.
“This isn’t a city project, but we want to keep the community informed so they can plan ahead,” said City Staff Engineer Adan Camano in a statement.
The construction supports a new three-story residential and commercial building with underground parking at 608 Yampa Street, according to a news release from the city.
