Volunteers sought for United Way efforts in Rio Blanco County

The United Way of the Yampa Valley has issued an “urgent call” for volunteers to assist in Rio Blanco County to support should the group be called upon to provide assistance amid the rapid growth of the Lee and Elk wildland fires.

The organization said it was “in the process of gathering names of those willing to volunteer when we are called for help,” according to a social media post.

“This is not a hard commitment, but a willingness to be available. At this time, we do not have specific details as to dates, times or needs. The intent of this list is to have a group of individuals at the ready, when we do receive more information,” the message says.
