Two-day Routt County Land Stewardship Class starts Nov. 6

The annual Routt County Land Stewardship Class, which offers a comprehensive short course on land stewardship tailored for Routt County taught by community experts, is set for Nov. 6 and 8.

The class co-hosted by Routt County CSU Extension and Community Agriculture Alliance is designed for anyone eager to learn about local agriculture and the essentials of land management, emphasizing sustainable practices and responsible stewardship of natural resources.

The class delves deep into land, water and natural resource stewardship with a specific focus on Routt County’s environmental and agricultural challenges.



The two-part course will cover a wide variety of topics such as agricultural assessment, Routt County Master Plan, water administration, integrated systems approach, conservation easements, water and land resiliency, soil survey, and weed, forestry, grasses and rangeland management. The class also allows real estate agents to earn seven hours of continued education credits.

The class is set for 5:30-8 p.m. Nov. 6 and 9 a.m.-4:15 p.m. Nov. 8 at the Routt County Community Room at 135 Sixth St. in downtown Steamboat Springs. The class includes meals, and the cost ranges from $100 to $150.
