The Sunshine Bowl at Steamboat Resort will be closed starting 7 a.m. Wednesday through Thursday due to rock blasting, according to a news release.
Visitors should expect closures at Sunshine, Cathy’s Cutoff, Pete’s Wicked trail and Duster road as blasting operations take place.
Bikers, hikers and hunters in the Sunshine Bowl area will be escorted to Rainbow Saddle for mountain recreation.
On-mountain employees will be able to access Rendezvous Lodge but will not be able to access terrain beyond the lodge.
The ski area also began drilling near the EZ Rider area. There are no significant impacts, but visitors should be aware of operations as workers operate heavy equipment and machinery near the base area, states the release.
