The Crosho Fire, west of Yampa and Phippsburg, is 81% contained and covered 2073 acres as of Sunday morning, according to a statement released by the Wyoming Type 3 Incident Management Team.
No structures have been damaged or destroyed. While 22 structures were at risk on Saturday, there are no longer any structures threatened by the blaze due to containment efforts.
“Containment continues to increase thanks to the hard work of firefighters,” the team wrote. “A weather system has moved into the region, bringing a high chance of thunderstorms and precipitation over the fire area through the coming week.”
Seven engines, two water tenders, one dozer and 160 personnel are currently being utilized for fire suppression efforts, according to the statement, as crews continue mop-up operations in uncontained areas of the fire.
“With crews conducting backhaul operations, please be patient and cautious around fire traffic on local roads,” wrote the incident management team. “Stay alert to changing road conditions as precipitation is expected throughout the region today.”
