Steamboat Springs’ newest downhill trail — Highway to Hell on Emerald Mountain — officially opened Thursday, just in time for riders to enjoy the fall colors.

The project was developed by Steamboat Springs Parks and Recreation and the local organization Routt County Riders. Built by the flow experts at FlowRide Concepts, trail construction was fueled by the community-supported 2A Trails Program, which expands Steamboat’s legendary trail systems.

The entire trail is about 3.25 miles of advanced and expert thrills, featuring rock drops and step-up jumps that lead to a signature overpass bridge and rugged rock armoring.
