Steamboat Resort reminds residents of project impacts

Steamboat Resort has a number of on-mountain projects taking place this week and through the rest of the summer.

These projects may cause impacts, detours and delays. Guests are asked to use the Steamboat Resort app or go to Steamboat.com for the most up-to-date information.

Current closures and impacts:

  • Lower Zig Zag will remain closed through the end of summer.
  • Storm Peak and Why Not Road are expected to have heavy truck traffic as the Priest Creek lift removal project continues.
  • Gunsmoke trail will be closed weekdays for maintenance work but will reopen on weekends only for downhill bike riding.
  • The U.S. Forest Service will be replacing the communications building at Storm Peak Lap on Monday. Guests should expect delays and intermittent closures on Why Not Road, Storm Peak Challenge Road and Chisholm trail while the new building is being transported to the Storm Peak Lab.
