Steamboat Mountain Film Festival to provide screenings this weekend

The Steamboat Mountain Film Festival will offer screenings this weekend at Wildhorse Cinema + Arts, 655 Marketplace Plaza.
The event, which first began in 2003, captures the area’s outdoor spirit by showcasing films that highlight adventures in nature by all levels of filmmakers.
Screenings this weekend will feature “Pressure Drop,” by Teton Gravity Research, following the world’s top skiers and snowboarders from around the globe as they take on intense conditions in the sport.
“Born from a dream and forged on the edge, this isn’t just our 30th annual film, it’s a tribute to the fleeting moment when breath slows, gravity takes over, and everything else fades,” states TGR’s description on the festival’s website.
Screenings take place Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon and evening. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. both nights and 1:30 p.m. for the Sunday matinee. Both evening showings will include a raffle.
Tickets for evening shows are $35 for adults and $25 for children 14 and younger. The matinee will be $25 for adults and $15 for kids.
Proceeds will go toward Steamboat Adaptive Recreational Sports.
Additional screenings will take place in November, with the entry window open for aspiring filmmakers through Oct. 15.
