Steamboat for All to host free childcare webinar Sept. 16
Steamboat for All will partner with First Impressions to host a free webinar titled “The True Cost of Care” at noon Monday, Sept. 16 to discuss the pressing childcare issues facing families, caregivers and employers in Routt County, according to a statement released on Monday morning.
The webinar, held via Zoom, will highlight issues such as a 6:1 waitlist for infant care, rising tuition costs and the scarcity of qualified teachers, all of which impact the ability of parents to work and of local businesses to hire employees.
The event will share findings from a new study on the economic effects of these challenges and discuss strategies for sustainable local funding. Attendees will learn how the community can collaborate to provide inexpensive childcare, prepare children for school and support teachers.
