The status of bird conservation in Colorado is the topic of the “State of the Birds” presentation set for 6:30-7:45 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28 in Steamboat Springs.
The event, in Library Hall at Bud Werner Memorial Library, will begin with a brief presentation by Ted Floyd, longtime editor of Birding magazine, summarizing the state of bird conservation in Colorado. Floyd is the author of many essays, articles and books about birds and nature.
The event will include themed stations where attendees can learn how to take action to help and advocate for birds in the state.
The program is part of a jam-packed schedule of events for this year’s 14th annual Yampa Valley Crane Festival running through Sunday afternoon. For a full schedule, visit Coloradocranes.org/festival-schedule.
