Soroco senior recognized as Rotary’s student of the month

The Rotary Club of Steamboat Springs recognized SOROCO senior Nick Clark as the September Student of the Month.

The Rotary Club of Steamboat Springs recognized Nick Clark as its September Student of the Month, states a news release.

The award is given to outstanding high school seniors throughout Routt County who embody Rotary’s gusiding principal of “Service Above Self.”

Clark, who is a senior at Soroco High School, distinguished himself as a leader in both academics and athletics while modeling the values of respect, accountablility, motivation and safety.



“Nick is an exceptional young individual who consistently represents the core values we strive to instill in all our students,” said Bailey Craig, school counselor, in a statement. “He is respectful to all, accountable to his responsibilities, motivated in the pursuit of excellence, and safe in the choices he makes — qualities that reflect true leadership.”

A dedicated athlete, Clark has built an impressive track record in distance running. His accomplishments include a 9th place finish at the 2024 Colorado State Cross Country Championships, a 7th place finish at the state track meet in the two-mile and consistent top placements at meets throughout his high school career.



Beyond athletics, Clark shows remarkable perseverance by dedicating hours outside of school to academic skills, earning 23 college credits by the time of his graduation.

Clark is considering pursuing criminal justice in college while continuing to run competitively.

“Nick leads by example and uplifts those around him,” continued Craig in a statement. “His work ethic, resilience and dedication to personal growth make him a model for his peers and a deserving recipient of this honor.”
