Ski pass, plane ticket winners announced
Steamboat Springs — Steamboat Springs residents have won a season ski pass and two airline tickets as part of Steamboat Pilot & Today’s joint promotion with Steamboat Ski & Resort Corp.
“You’ve got to be kidding,” said Judy Wiegard, when she was told Monday she had won two airline tickets. “We were planning on doing something in April to get away from the winter weather. This is perfect timing.”
Tell Carol Charubin congratulations, as well. She could not be reached Monday but is the winner of the season ski pass.
Contestants signed up for the month-long promotion by visiting http://www.steamboatpilot.com, and winners were announced during the weekday video morning news updates. In addition to the airline tickets and season ski pass, 30 day passes were awarded.
“This has been an incredible reader promotion,” said Bryna Larsen, publisher of the Steamboat Pilot & Today. “Overall, we had 15,481 entries to the contest. It’s clear that our readers love to ski and snowboard.”
There was one winner from Washington, but the remaining prizes were awarded to Colorado residents. Out of the 32 winners, 24 were from Routt County.
“Steamboat Ski and Resort Corporation was so generous in giving us 30 lift tickets and a season pass to give away,” Larsen said. “Then, when the Steamboat Travel Center kicked in the two airline tickets, I knew the contest was going to be a huge success. We’ve been thrilled with the reader participation and with our partnership with Ski Corp. on this project.”
