Routt County Search and Rescue invited community members to meet team members, learn about equipment and enjoy a hot dog during the organization’s fourth annual Family Fun Day on Saturday.
“It was really fun. We just have a lot of community support, and we feel very fortunate for that,” said Routt County Search and Rescue Board Member Cindi Hillemeyer.
During this year’s annual Yampa River Festival, Routt County Search and Rescue offered hot dogs, games, equipment tours and chats with Search and Rescue members at Howelsen Hill.
River Festival attendees stopped by the event to learn more about Search and Rescue operations and enjoy a quick snack in the sun.

Routt County Search and Rescue also took the opportunity to remind people of summer safety and the 10 essentials for every outing.

The organization is planning to attend other summer events, including the Fourth of July Parade. Hillemeyer added that plans for fall events are also in the works.
