In a statement released Wednesday, Mindy Marriott reflected on a decade as the executive director of Reaching Everyone Preventing Suicide, a Yampa Valley nonprofit dedicated to suicide prevention and mental health support.

Marriott thanked the community for its trust and partnership in efforts that span suicide prevention, intervention and postvention. 

“One of my earliest days in this role, I sat with a family who had recently lost someone they loved,” wrote Marriott in the statement. “Their courage and vulnerability have stayed with me, guiding me through these 10 years and reminding me why our community must continue to show up for one another.”

Marriott credited the region’s volunteers, donors and partner organizations — including schools, health providers and first responders — for sustaining the organization’s mission. The group provides education, training and crisis resources throughout the valley.

Looking ahead, Marriott said REPS will continue expanding suicide prevention programs and community education. 

“It continues to be one of the greatest honors of my life to do this work,” she wrote in the statement. “Together, we can continue building a community of hope and healing.”
