The Yampa-Egeria Historical Society is inviting community members to view the historical quilts exhibit inside the restored Crossan’s M&A Market building in downtown Yampa.

The South Routt Quilt Show showcases more than 120 years of local heritage and features more than 30 quilts made by and for South Routt families from 1901 to 2024.

Among the most notable pieces is the Yampa Ladies Aid Society Quilt made in 1901 and showcasing the impressive handiwork of early Routt County women. The display also includes barn quilts created by members of the Delectable Mountain Quilt Guild featuring quilted representations of prominent historic barns throughout Routt County.

Whether hand-pieced, machine-stitched or intricately embroidered, the show offers a glimpse into the lives, celebrations and craftsmanship of generations. Visitors are invited to enter a fundraising drawing to win a locally made quilt or quilted table runner with proceeds to benefit the society and its ongoing efforts to preserve and share the area’s heritage.

The exhibit is open daily 8 a.m-4 p.m. Monday-Wednesday, 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Thursday-Friday and noon-6 p.m. the final weekend through Aug. 1. More information can be found on the Yampa-Egeria Historical Society’s Facebook page.
