Sancy Shaw was involved in a car accident and taken to heaven on Dec. 24, 2018.

Sancy was born in Buffalo, WY on April 7, 1980. She grew up in Evergreen, CO, and Lander, WY.  It was in Steamboat Springs, CO where she met the love of her life, Brett Shaw. They eventually settled in Clark, CO, where they started their family and Sancy began her teaching career at North Routt Community Charter School.

Sancy’s life was defined by her deep devotion to her Lord Jesus, her husband Brett Shaw, and her four children Wyatt (13), Mason (11), Jaxon (9), and Charlee Jo (6). The family worships at Anchor Way Church in Steamboat Springs, CO.

Sancy excelled at soccer, and played four years at the University of Wyoming, where she received her degree in Secondary Education with an emphasis in Biology and Science. She was an avid dirt bike rider, fly fisher, snow boarder, and runner, which made her the poster child for the perfect “Colorado/Wyoming mountain girl”.  Her love of the mountains, hiking, and fly fishing coupled with her interest in science and biology, gave Sancy the desire to teach her students about ways to protect the health of streams and rivers.

Sancy is survived by her parents, Keith and Bonnie Florquist of Evergreen, CO; Her brothers and their families: Luke & Courtney Florquist, Easton, Paisley;  Jesse & Janel Florquist, Bridger, Noel, Carson; Ryan & Jesse (Kelso) Florquist, Graycin, Rowan; her grandparents, Walt and Betty Florquist of Steamboat Springs, CO.,  Joyce Brower of Lakewood, CO; Uncles and Aunts, Kraig & Tammy Florquist of Lander, WY, Bob & Val Schnackenberg of Woodland Park, CO,  Gerry and Pam Schnackenberg of Loveland, CO, Aunt Kip Schnackenberg of Cody, WY, and lots of cousins.

A Celebration of Life for Sancy will be held at The Steamboat Grand Hotel, 2300 Mt. Werner Circle, Steamboat Springs, CO 80487, on January 11, 2019 @ 10:00 A.M.

Charlee was seriously injured in the accident and is facing a long recovery.  The family asks that you keep Charlee in your prayers.
