Noreen Baker Guler passed away peacefully at Casey’s Pond Senior Living Community in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, surrounded by love.
Born in Los Angeles to Henrietta Steinberg Baker Gore and Irving Baker, Noreen was a beloved mother, grandmother, teacher, and friend who lived with curiosity, laughter, and unwavering love.
After getting her degree in early childhood education at UCLA, Noreen spent thirty years as an elementary school teacher, primarily in kindergarten and second grade. Her students were drawn to her joy, enthusiasm, and creativity, with many returning to visit her long after graduation.
Noreen was a voracious reader, skilled needlepointer, and passionate advocate for women’s rights and democratic values. For over 40 years, she cherished her Book Group circle of friends. She loved dancing, sing-alongs, and musicals, remembering lyrics and melodies even in her final years.
Known for her quick wit, love of puns, and sharp sense of humor, Noreen’s authentic spirit made her unforgettable to all who knew her. Even at Casey’s Pond, she remained remarkably social, participating in activities and bringing joy wherever she could.
She is survived by daughters Michelle Perry (Jason Perry) and Sari Davidson (Clark Davidson), and beloved grandchildren Jordan, Isaac, and Bella. She was preceded in death by her husband Harvey after fifty years of marriage.
Let us remember Noreen with joy and laughter, celebrating her spirit of humor, song, and care for others.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
