August 18, 1948 – August 29, 2025

Janice Elaine Shultz, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2025, at the age of 77, after a brief battle with cancer. Born on August 18, 1948, in Buffalo, NY, Janice lived a life filled with love, laughter, and compassion. Janice was a devoted mother to her daughter, Kimberly (Covert) Miles, and her husband,Tim Miles, as well as her son, Brian Covert, and his wife, Nikki Covert. She was a proud grandmother to her grandsons Ricky Miles, Tyler Battles Garrett, and Trenton Battles Garrett.
A passionate lover of music, Janice enjoyed playing the flute, piccolo, and piano. She also sang in barbershop chorale groups, quartets, and church choirs for decades, sharing her beautiful voice and love of song with many.
Preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy (Krackenburger) Shultz and Andrew Shultz; her sister, Carolyn Cooper; and her grandson, Andrew Ryan Miles. Janice leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and musical joy. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family, friends, nieces, and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on December 30th at 12:00 PM at St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Oak Creek, CO.
