March 15, 1951 – September 19, 2025

Gil left Skaneateles, NY to attend Franklin Pierce College in New Hampshire. From there he moved to Steamboat Springs where he built his forever home.
He had a great love for skiing his whole life and was one of the first to Telemark. Gil made many river rafting trips. Work as a bartender at establishments like Cantina, and Hawrigs. He ran the annual Flamingo open for many years. Gil was a carpenter, built his own house, and HORSESHOE ART, made from recycled horseshoes from Yampa Valley and Steamboat Springs. He loved his home in BEARVIEW with so many projects on going. He leaves behind a close-knit community of Steamboat family and friends and his practically lifetime best friend Bear Ackerman. He is survived by his sister
Donna Fifield (Randy DuChene) of Camillus, NY and his niece Amy Doyle of Seattle, WA., his relatives in England, Northern Ireland, New Zealand and of course his beloved and ever loyal and faithful Sheba. In Lieu of flowers, donations to Routt County Council of Aging, which is what Gil wanted to support. A celebration is planned for on
October 12, 2025 (Sunday) in Gil’s yard, 400 Bearview Ct 1pm til??
