The community of Oak Creek gathered on Monday to celebrate the town’s annual Labor Day parade. This year, the parade, part of a weekend-long schedule of events, was organized under the slogan: “Send it!”

The longtime tradition of honoring workers on Labor Day in Oak Creek began in 1913, a year when coal miners wanted to show unity among workers and their unions, according to the Trails and Tracks Museum.
