Steamboat Springs City Manager Gary Suiter thanks his staff during his final City Council meeting on Tuesday. At the meeting, City Council President Gail Garey presented Suiter with a proclamation from council recognizing Jan. 21, 2025 as Gary Suiter Day. Suiter, the city manager since June 2016, will retire this week.

Dear Editor:

It was with very mixed feelings that we moved to the Front Range, leaving behind a mix of friends and colleagues in Steamboat Springs, all of whom contributed to my success as your former City Manager.

For that, I would like to thank you for your support (you know who you are!) including, past and present City Council members, the city’s leadership team and talented city employees, leaders of other local governments, the non-profits and private businesses, and, of course, the citizens in the community who were always gracious, kind, and supportive.

A big thank you to each of you and best wishes moving forward and taking care of this special place!

Sincerely,
Gary and Fran Suiter
