Kaia Tydeman, 7, has been selected as the sixth Reader of the Week in Hayden Public Library’s Summer Reading Program. Having lived in Hayden since she was one-year-old, Kaia will be in second grade this upcoming school year.

Kaia’s family consists of her parents Tracy and Dan and her three pets — two poodles named Winter and Tumanako (meaning “hope”) and a cat named Koa. Her friends Maddy, Emma and Ilsa are also important people in her life.

An enjoyer of mac and cheese, the color teal and the television show “Bluey,” Kaia practices gymnastics, swimming and ballet in her free time. She would like to be a babysitter in the future.

The field trip to Excel Energy was a memorable moment for Kaia last school year. She really enjoys reading — her favorite books are the “Dory Fantasmagory” series by Abby Hanlon, with other favorites including “Bluey,” “Ivan” and “Don’t Push the Button.”

She said she was “excited” after she learned about receiving Reader of the Week. Advising younger kids, she said, “Books are fun!”
