Fun, frights featured in October movies at Wildhorse
Spooky season series should stimulate screams

Throughout October, Wildhorse Cinema + Arts will feature a series of movies to fit the spooky season.
The theater will host multiple segments of a Halloween series, with selections for all ages in the Tuesday Classics and the Kid-Friendly Double Features leading up to the more adult Late-Night Double Features at the end of the month.
Tuesday Classics run at 7 p.m. each Tuesday and include 1988’s “Beetlejuice” (Oct. 14), 1984’s “Gremlins” (Oct. 21) and 2023’s “Five Nights at Freddy’s” (Oct. 28).
Children’s double features — which take place at noon and 2:15 p.m. — will feature a pairing of animated features on Thursday, Oct. 16 — “Hotel Transylvania” and “The Addams Family — as well as live-action on Friday, Oct. 17 — “Goosebumps” and “The House with a Clock in Its Walls.”
The Late-Night series — all selections rated R — includes back-to-back screenings at 8 and 10:15 p.m. on Oct. 30 and 31.
The first installment will be 2021’s “The Black Phone” and its newly released sequel, “The Black Phone 2.” Rounding out the month will be a John Carpenter double feature — the original “Halloween” and 1982’s “The Thing.”
Double feature pricing will be $7 for one movie or $10 for both. Wildhorse will also offer concession specials during each Halloween selection, including deals for repeat viewers.
