Free paint recycling event to be hosted in Craig on August 28
On Thursday, August 28, PaintCare is set to host a free paint recycling event at MJK Ace Sales and Feed, located at 2315 W First St in Craig. The event will run from 2-6 p.m. and space is limited.
Open to all households and businesses, participants are invited to drop off unused paint for recycling or pick up leftover paint in good condition for free. Paint is provided as-is and attendees are limited to no more than 25 gallons of free paint.
Households may bring most types of paint, stain and varnish in any amount. Limits may apply to businesses bringing oil-based paint. PaintCare will accept unwanted house paint and primers that are latex or oil-based as well as stains and deck and concrete sealers. Clear finishes such as varnish or shellac are also accepted.
All paint must be in sealed, original containers with the original manufacturer label. PaintCare cannot accept leaking, unlabeled or empty containers. Aerosol coatings and hazardous waster or other chemicals such as paint thinner, solvents, motor oil, spackle, glue, adhesive, roofing tar, pesticides or cleaning chemicals are also not allowed. Additionally, drums or containers larger than five gallons are not permitted.
