Local organizations are inviting the community to experience rigs and equipment used by first responders, law enforcement and other local agencies from 10 a.m.-noon Aug. 7 at the east end of the Steamboat rodeo grounds.
The Touch a Truck event will allow kids and adults to see a medical helicopter, a fire truck, police patrol cars, animal control vans, a sheriff’s office mobile armed rescue vehicle, search and rescue trucks, buses, SWAT unit vehicles and other pieces of equipment up close.
Officials will be at the event to answer questions, explain how each piece of equipment is used and take photos.
The first hour of the event will be a sensory hour event without horns, sirens or any other loud noise. The entire event is free and open to all ages.
