City launches Brown Ranch Community Solutions project webpage
The city of Steamboat Springs has launched a dedicated webpage on its Engage Steamboat website to provide information about the Brown Ranch affordable housing process.
The Brown Ranch Community Solutions page can be found by going to EngageSteamboat.net and selecting the Brown Ranch Community Solutions project link.
Principal Planner Brad Calvert said the webpage was published Friday and provides easy-to-access materials including recent presentations to City Council and notes and presentation materials from the city’s Deliberation & Stewardship Team’s recent orientation meeting.
Dates and times for the Deliberation & Stewardship Team and other Brown Ranch related meetings are also available on the webpage
The Deliberation & Stewardship Team is an initial group of 40 community members selected from 81 applicants that “will engage in rich and challenging discussions and healthy debate, supported by strong informational resources and expert facilitation.”
Calvert said the roster of the Deliberation & Stewardship Team will be published early next week and that the group’s meetings are open to the public.
The effort to form a new plan for Brown Ranch is being coordinated by the city and the Yampa Valley Housing Authority in partnership with two consulting firms, Community Builders and Civic Canopy with a goal to engage the community “to chart a workable path for the future of Brown Ranch,” according to the website.
As part of that effort, the website states four project goals:
- A transparent and productive community solutions process
- Meaningful community involvement where everyone feels their voice is heard
- A strengthened partnership between the city and YVHA
- A shared community vision for the future of Brown Ranch
