Bud Werner Library to host author event and sky party
Bud Werner Library is hosting an event with award-winning author Craig Childs to celebrate the release of his new book, “The Wild Dark: Finding the Night Sky in the Age of Light,” at 7 p.m. Monday in Library Hall.
Childs will put on a multimedia storytelling show to celebrate his book, which focuses on his quest to bike from the Las Vegas Strip to one of the darkest spots in North America.
Following the storytelling show, attendees will be invited to a sky party at Colorado Mountain College’s Ball Observatory with Professor Paul McCudden and Childs. Weather permitting, the observatory dome will open and scopes will be set up for stargazing.
