Better Tomorrow to host community gathering Nov. 19 at Steamboat Social Club
Local nonprofit Better Tomorrow is inviting Yampa Valley residents to connect, learn and celebrate community partnerships during its “Discover Better Tomorrow” gathering on Wednesday, Nov. 19, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Steamboat Social Club, according to a statement released on Monday.
The free event will include refreshments and a 5:30 p.m. announcement from Executive Director Mark Fitzgerald about the organization’s next chapter. Guests will hear updates on Better Tomorrow’s four programs, which collectively promote safety, healing and belonging across Northwest Colorado.
Those programs include Advocates of Routt County, supporting survivors of domestic and sexual violence; the Brighter World Child Advocacy Center, offering trauma-informed services to young victims of crime; COMMA Projects, which focuses on violence prevention and healthy relationship education; and Queer Futures, which provides safe spaces and support for LGBTQ+ youth.
“We’re asking people to bring their curiosity and their voice — not their checkbook,” Fitzgerald said in the statement. “If you care about a safer, more connected Yampa Valley, we’d love to have you in the room.”
The event is open to all community members. RSVPs are requested to help plan refreshments.
