The Keep Bears Wild educational organization is hosting a Be Bear Aware free public talk about the coexistence between humans and bears at 6 p.m. Oct. 14 at Bud Werner Library Hall in Steamboat Springs.

Educator Christy Bubenheim will provide an update from the International Human-Bear Conflicts Workshop about “Changing the Narrative of Human-Bear Conflicts” with a focus on shifting perspectives, improving coexistence strategies and implementing innovative solutions to mitigate conflicts between humans and bears.

Keep Bears Wild works to establish a sustainable and effective bear awareness community through education and marketing, volunteers and events. The Oct. 14 presentation will be an interactive hour of facts, tips and action items that will help make life safer and better for bears and humans in the Yampa Valley.
