Burgers, hot dogs and homemade sides will be on the menu for the annual Toponas Community BBQ, taking place at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, June 13 at Toponas Hall.

“We’ve been doing this for the past three years,” said Kelly Gates, president of the Toponas Community Club, which is hosting the event. “We wanted to start a tradition to bring the entire community together once a year for a big get-together.”

Everyone is invited to the family-friendly evening, which will feature a burger bar serving up traditional food, as well as a chance to catch up with neighbors at Toponas Hall, located at 9960 Colorado Highway 131. Organizers hope to draw the entire South Routt Community as well as those from Steamboat Springs, West Routt and North Routt.

Organizers are asking for donations for dinner, and a silent auction will feature items including a deluxe cornhole board, homemade jam, locally raised beef, and tickets to the Steamboat Springs Pro Rodeo Series and Old Town Hot Springs.

The evening will feature live music and dancing with the band Backroad Horizon, a group from North Routt County, providing the tunes. Money raised from the event will go toward maintaining the Toponas Hall and paying the costs associating with keeping the Hall’s doors open.
