In memory of Diana Richmond Dunn, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother on what would have been her 78th birthday. Diana was born on July 17, 1948, in Boston, Massachusetts, to Joseph W. Epply Jr. and Barbara Schofield Epply. Diana grew up in New England, living in several states and towns. She graduated from Kennett High School in Conway, New Hampshire, in 1966, where she had been a member of the ski team for several years. She then attended Olivet College in Olivet Michigan where she met and married John (Jack) Todoverto in 1971. They moved to Denver where Jack was a pilot for Frontier Airlines and Diana worked as a secretary. In 1975 they moved to Craig where Jack, with his partner Scott Livingston, ran the Fixed Base Operations at the Craig Airport and Diana worked for Colorado-Ute Electric Association at the Hayden Electric Generating Station as a secretary. Diana’s and Jack’s marriage was dissolved in 1978 due to irreconcilable differences. Diana continued to work at Hayden Station where she met and dated Steven Dunn who started work as a chemist at the Station in 1982. They were married in 1986 and moved to a small ranchette outside of Hayden where Diana had space for chickens, goats, dogs and cats. Diana was always very much an animal lover. Her first son Mark William was born in 1988, followed by brother Jeffrey Allen 1990. After staying at home with the boys while they were younger, she returned to workforce in the 2000’s working in the real estate and banking industries. In 2006 the family moved from the ranchette into the town of Hayden and Diana retired from her working days in 2007.
Diana loved to chase her grandchildren through the house, much to their shrill screams of delight. She loved to make people laugh, sometimes by doing rather strange things with whipped cream, that mortified her sons on more than one occasion. Diana always had a fishing pole in her car in the summertime and fished whenever she could. Sometimes riding with her in the car was an aromatic experience from the bait in the back. Diana loved attending Farmers Market and Art in the Park, especially the display of the live raptors in the park. Her favorite meals were soup and salad at Freshies Restaurant, and on special occasions, lobster at the Ore House, followed up with mud pie.
Diana passed away from breast cancer on January 24th, 2026 and her remains were cremated. She is survived by her husband Steven, to whom she was married to for forty years; sons Mark and Jeffrey; brothers Walter and Mark Epply; stepsisters Katie Green and Nancy Thornton; 5 grandchildren; 2 Jack Russel Tarriers, Teddy / Lilly; and 2 cats, Peanut / Piglet.
A family celebration of life dinner was held in her honor at the Ore House where many good memories were shared with laughter and some tears.
