Congratulations to Nicole Miller on her return to Steamboat and the Pilot. We all understand coming over Rabbit Ears Pass and that feeling of home. However, a seven year absence is a long time and the community has changed.

I do hope she and the editor, Trevor Ballantyne, will consider reinstituting a functioning editorial board that consists of more than the two of them. A successful local paper needs input from the community, not just the newspaper executives. In the past, community members served on the editorial board on a rotating basis along with representatives from the Pilot.

For the success of the paper, hopefully a similar policy will be reinstated.
