Rotary Club of Steamboat Springs awards $22,000 in total scholarships to eight graduating seniors

The Rotary Club of Steamboat Springs has awarded a total of $22,000 in scholarships to graduating seniors from Steamboat Springs and Hayden high schools, states a recent news release.
Vanessa Avitia Perez of Steamboat Springs High School received the $5,000 Jim Grew Scholarship and plans to attend Colorado Mesa University.
Four SSHS students — Stella Crofts, Duke Fitzgerald, Abigail Elliot and Ryan LeBrun — were each awarded $3,500 scholarships. Crofts will attend American University in Washington, D.C.; Fitzgerald the University of Chicago; Elliot the University of Vermont, and LeBrun the University of Colorado Boulder.
Additional $1,000 scholarships were awarded to Miguel Perez of Hayden High School, who will attend the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, and SSHS graduates Isabella Cerasoli and Isabelle Hamric, who plan to attend San Diego State University and the University of Colorado Boulder, respectively.
The annual awards recognize local students for their academic achievements and post-secondary plans.
