Routt County native and third-generation rancher William “Bill” Wesley Gay passed away peacefully on August 25, 2026, at his home near the bottom of Rabbit Ears Pass. He was 80 years old. Bill led a life of adventures and surprises. Steadfast through all of that he was a strong proponent of agriculture and conservation though education and community involvement. Bill’s celebration of life will be held at the Steamboat Christian Center at noon on September 10th. His full obituary can be found at: yampavalleyfh.com
