Routt County native and third-generation rancher William “Bill” Wesley Gay passed away peacefully on August 25, 2026, at his home near the bottom of Rabbit Ears Pass. He was 80 years old. Bill led a life of adventures and surprises. Steadfast through all of that he was a strong proponent of agriculture and conservation though education and community involvement.
