Hayden’s Hayes is Bareback Riding World Champion

Steamboat Pilot & Today archive
It was a dream season for Hayden cowboy Keenan Hayes, who became the world’s No. 1 bareback rider in June and never gave up the spot to become the first Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association Bareback Riding World Champion in a cowboy’s rookie season.
Hayes had 17 wins on the season when he entered the National Finals Rodeo and held a lead over $100,000 to the world No. 2. He secured his spot as the world champ with an incredible 90-point ride in Round 10 on Saturday night at Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas.
Hayes ended the season earning a total of $434,050, breaking the single-season PRCA bareback riding earnings record which was previously held by Clayton Biglow in 2019.
Hayes placed in five of the 10 rounds at the finals and was first in the event average with 850 points on 10 head. He finished the year $118,955 ahead of second-place bareback rider Jess Pope.
