Steamboat Creates is calling on locals to help shape this year’s 44th Annual Cabaret, the community’s long-running variety show that mixes humor, music and storytelling rooted in Steamboat Springs life, set for May 13-16, according to a recent statement.

The 2026 theme,” A Tale of Two Seasons,” invites residents to submit original skits, songs or short stories that celebrate — or poke fun at — the town’s unique charm and contradictions.

Organizers emphasize that no stage experience is needed. Community members can simply share their creative ideas that highlight local personalities, changing weather conditions and the playful spirit that defines Steamboat.

Auditions and idea submissions will be held Saturday, March 14 from 5-7 p.m. and Sunday, March 15 from 3-5 p.m at the Depot Art Center (1001 13th Street).

Submissions may also be sent via email by March 15 to CabaretDirectors@gmail.com
