Local resident dies after ‘serious accident’ at Steamboat Resort on Saturday
Steamboat Ski & Resort Corp. Director of Communications Maren Franciosi confirmed a fatal accident occurred at the resort on Saturday.
The Routt County Coroner’s office has identified the deceased as Jack McGrath, 25, who was residing in Steamboat Springs.
“We sadly did have a serious accident that took place on the mountain today off Buddy’s Run involving a member of our community. Our Ski Patrol responded immediately and provided life-saving care, but despite these efforts, the individual passed away,” Franciosi wrote in a statement.
“We extend our heartfelt condolences to their family, friends and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time,” she added.
Buddy’s Run is a popular intermediate trail. Additional information on the nature of the crash was not immediately available.
