Yampa Valley Partnership seeking applications for paid summer internship program
The Yampa Valley Partnership for Students, Stewardship and Sustainability is now accepting applications for its Summer 2026 Paid Internship Program, offering Routt County high school students hands-on work experience across a variety of fields, according to a Tuesday news release.
The nine-week program features 11 paid positions this year, with placements in industries such as construction, agriculture, information technology, hospitality and local government.
Participating organizations include Routt County nonprofits, businesses and public agencies, with roles ranging from carpentry and automotive work to sustainability projects and municipal services.
Interns will earn $20 per hour for up to 40 hours per week, with no prior experience required, and will attend a paid pre-internship “boot camp” to prepare them for their first day on the job, as well as a program celebration at the end of the summer.
The partnership covers all wages and coordinates the program, which aims to connect students with local career pathways while helping employers cultivate a future workforce.
Applications are open now, with a priority deadline of May 1 and rolling acceptance through May 10.
