The Steamboat Springs and Ski Town Rotary Clubs have announced 10 local winners of the 2026 Rotary Youth Leadership Awards, according to a recent news release.

The selected students include two Steamboat Springs Middle School students — seventh graders Grayson Davis and Ramey Shepherd — as well as eight students from Steamboat Springs High School, including sophomores Carleigh Klingemann, Jackson MacEntee, Ben Richman, Ben Steelman and Grayson Wells, juniors Morgan Garrett and Kai Rochon, and senior Erick Yeiser.

Award winners will attend a five-day conference at the YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park this summer. The high school students will attend the main conference from July 12-17, while the seventh graders will attend the Young Rotary Youth Leadership Awards conference, offered in two sessions in late June.

Each conference emphasizes hands-on learning and team collaboration, helping students strengthen communication, planning and leadership abilities through workshops, outdoor challenges and guest presentations. The program is fully funded by Rotary.

Steamboat Springs Rotary Club member Karen Wray will serve as a senior counselor at one of the leadership camps this summer.

“Debbie Aragon and Todd Carr, presidents of the Steamboat Springs and Ski Town Rotary Clubs, are excited that these ten students will not only learn about leadership but will also be able to transfer the skills they gain right back into our local Steamboat community,” the release states.
