The Steamboat Springs girls golf team swung their clubs well this week in impressive back-to-back tournament performances.
On Tuesday, the girls traveled to Aspen for a round at Aspen Glen Club and collected the tournament win by 10 strokes.
Leading the charge was Katharina Cosby whose five-birdie round put her in prime position to take the individual lead, shooting one-under on the par 73 course. Cosby was -3 on the back nine.
Kaitlyn Grommeck was not far behind Cosby, placing second in the tournament after carding a 77. Grommeck had two birdies of her own on the back nine.
Steamboat’s third counting score came off the clubs of Maddy Moline who shot a 106.
The action did not end there for the Sailors who then traveled to Glenwood Springs for the River Valley Ranch Championship on Wednesday. Steamboat placed third in the tournament, just three strokes short of second place.
Grommeck once again took second with a round nine strokes over par. Moline took seventh, shooting a 90. Brynn Becker landed the only Sailor birdie of the day on the par five 17th hole for 17th place.
Next up for the Sailors is a tournament in Rifle on Monday, April 28.
