The Routt County Climate Action Plan Collaborative is hosting an open house on Wednesday, Sept. 9 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Bud Werner Memorial Library in Library Hall, according to an Aug. 28 community update.
Since the 2021 adoption of the Routt County Climate Action Plan, local and regional governments, as well as over 70 community leaders, have been working in collaboration to implement its recommendations.
The open house will allow community members to hear from local officials about progress made on lowering Routt County’s carbon emissions and learn about the collaborative’s plan to increase building electrification and decarbonization, including the installation of 10,000 heat pumps throughout the county.
The event is free and open to the public, with light snacks and beverages, including beer from Mountain Tap Brewery and non-alcoholic drinks, available. Childcare and English-Spanish translation will also be provided.
Attendees are asked to register in advance by visiting TicketTailor.com/Events/WesternResilience/2321498. Questions can be emailed to info@routtclimateaction.com.
