Oak Creek Police Chief Ralph Maher announced that he has entered into a retirement agreement with the town of Oak Creek Friday morning.

Maher had been on restricted duties since complaints surfaced regarding his conduct at a Jan. 21 performance of the Magic Hunks at the Colorado Bar and another instance in which Lauren Verbosky, owner of the Colorado Bar, said a belligerent patron of the bar attacked her, causing her to dislocate her shoulder as she attempted to remove them from the establishment. After contacting police and providing statements, it was unclear if any official action took place.

The signed agreement came as the town of Oak Creek reportedly had completed an investigation into the incidents.

Town officials had hired an outside investigator to look into the actions of Maher.

In Jan. 2015, Maher was sworn in as Oak Creek’s chief of police. Prior to taking the job, he spent 19 years with the police department in Fountain, which is just south of Colorado Springs. His experience also includes a 10-month stint as the chief of police in Yuma.

This is a developing story.
